Refunds
There are two kinds of money in Shimwise, and refunds work differently for each.
Shimwise Pro subscriptions
Shimwise Pro is bought through the App Store, so Apple processes the payment and decides on refunds. We can’t issue or reverse App Store charges ourselves.
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Choose Request a refund, pick a reason, and select the Shimwise charge.
- Apple will let you know its decision, usually within a few days.
To stop future charges, cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings (see how to cancel). Cancelling doesn’t refund the current period, but Pro stays active until it ends. If something went wrong with the app, email zak.support12@gmail.com too; we’ll help sort it out.
Deposits and invoice payments
Deposits and invoice payments are paid by customers directly to the contractor’s own Stripe account. Shimwise doesn’t receive or hold that money, so refunds are between the customer and the contractor.
- Cancellation within the cooling-off period. If a customer cancels within the period that applies to the property’s state or province, the contractor must refund the deposit within the time the law sets (for example, within 10 business days under US federal rules). The notice of cancellation in the signed contract explains the details.
- Other refunds. Any other refund depends on the contract and on the law where the work is done.
- For contractors. Issue refunds from your Stripe Dashboard. Stripe’s own rules on refunding processing fees apply.
- For customers. Contact the contractor first. If that doesn’t work, you can contact your card issuer or bank, or your local consumer protection office.
