Prices in US dollars; the App Store shows the local price in Canada. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple Account. The free trial is offered once per Apple Account; if you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and renews each month or year until you cancel in your Apple Account settings. Card and bank fees for customer payments are Stripe’s standard fees, charged by Stripe to your own account. See the Terms of Service.

Questions tradespeople ask us
Does it really work with no signal?
Yes. Creating clients, scanning rooms, dictating, pricing and reviewing a quote all happen on your iPhone. When you tap Send with no connection, the quote waits in an outbox and goes out as soon as you’re back in range. Only sending, and your customer’s side of things, need the internet.
Which iPhones can scan rooms?
Room scanning uses LiDAR, which is on iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max and later Pro models. Every iPhone that runs iOS 18 or later (iPhone XS and XR onward) gets the full app, using guided measurements you type or say instead of a scan. Older phones aren’t locked out of anything else.
Where can I use Shimwise?
In the United States and Canada. Quotes support US dollars and Canadian dollars, imperial and metric units, and multiple tax lines such as GST and PST, HST, or state and local sales tax. You set your own tax rates.
Can I use it in Quebec?
Not yet. Quebec law requires contracts and notices in French first, and we won’t offer Shimwise there until the app, the customer page, the PDFs and the cancellation forms are all available in French. That’s planned for a later version.
What does it cost to take a deposit?
Your customer pays through your own Stripe account. Stripe charges you its standard processing fees, the same as if you used Stripe on its own. Shimwise adds no markup and never holds your money; payouts follow your Stripe account’s schedule. You can also mark invoices paid by cash or check.
Can I get my data out?
Any time, free, including after you cancel Pro. Export your clients, price book, quotes and invoices as CSV, along with every quote PDF and signed contract.
Are the cancellation notices legal advice?
No. Shimwise fills in the notice of cancellation and cooling-off deadline for the property’s state or province from versioned templates written from the official statutes, and they are being reviewed by lawyers before launch. But they are templates, not legal advice for your business. You’re responsible for your licensing, your contracts and the rules that apply to you. If you’re unsure, talk to a lawyer where you work.
What happens after my 5 free quotes?
You can keep drafting, scanning and pricing without limits. To send more, start Pro; the 14-day free trial is offered through Apple when you upgrade. Quotes you already sent keep working: customers can still sign and pay.
Do my customers need an app or an account?
No. They open the link you text or email, read the quote, agree to electronic records, sign by typing their name, and pay the deposit in their browser. See what customers agree to.
